MARINE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COURSE

A 5 day course teaching how to manage resources

CREATE A HOLISTIC APPROACH

Create a all encompassing plan for coral reef restoration

Junkyard Reef

Coral restoration is not a simple process and requires alot of planning, time and commitment to restoration projects.

To simply transplant coral is not enough to ensure success. The area has to be surveyed, species selection and artificial structure design need to be specific for the restoration zone.

Long term monitoring, maintenance and data collection also help to improve survival rate, as well as future project designs.

The 5 day Marine Resource Management course delves deeper into the ecology & biology of the coral reef ecosystem, building on what you have learnt in the Reef Check Eco Diver Course. It uses a fantastic manual called Coral Reefs & Climate Change – which you get as part of the course.

We’ll introduce you to the coral nurseries, Biorock technology and other reef restoration projects. You will be participated in a variety of restoration focused dives, helping to monitor and maintain our restoration projects.
